These were my photos which i took on black and white film in Bradford. I found this task quite challenging as i was shooting on a film camera so i was limited with how many shots i had.
This shoot was taken from a low angle of Bradford Cathedral. I quite like this image as the lighting and contrast wasn't too bad, however if i was to re- shoot i would still shoot at a low angle however maybe stand a bit further back so i could capture more of the clock.
This was taken in Bradford Cathedral. I don't like this photo as it has a coloured line down it which im not sure how it happened but also the lighting ruins the picture.
This is of Bradford Cathedral. This was again a low angle shot of windows from outside the Cathedral. I quite like this shot as you can see the detail of the bricks which are closest to the camera.
This photo was of Bradford Cathedral. I find this photo boring to look at as there's nothing to it which makes it stand out. I think that the stone on the building is too bright in comparisan to the windows which are dark.
This is one of my favourite images i took. I like this because of the contrast in the photo. I like it because its dark and the light that is coming through the window is shining on the roof giving quite a spooky effect.
This is similar to the image above however was taken at a different angle so you can see a different perspective of it. I also like this one because of the dark colours in the picture which make it look more effective as they work well with each other.
This was taken in Bradford Town. I'm not sure what the building is but it is just beside the train station. I took this from a low angle however not really low and i tilted my camera up just slightly to capture the building.I like the way this shot turned out as i think the contrast works well of the building with the sky.
This is of the same building as above but at a different angle and closer up. I quite like the way the face of the building is clear and you can see the details, then the sides go a little bit blury which i think creates an interesting effect.
This photo reminds me of a photo which would of been taken in the olden days, because of the effect the black and white film has had on it and because of the structure. I'm disappointed with the way the exposure was too much on the left hand side making the building too light which ruins the shot as the exposure worked in all the other areas.
This is a low angle shot of an old building which i don't like because there isn't much to it and i think it looks boring to look at. I don't think the contrast works well on this image which makes it look dull.
This shot is of the Cathedral in Bradford. I didn't take this at any angles i just took it from where i was standing. If i took this again i would stand a bit further back to take the shot so more of the building is in the shot and i would try not to get the sky in as this often ruins the image if you don't get the exposure right.
This is one of my favourite shots i took on black and white film. I really like this as it turned out to look like a panorama when i didn't mean for it to be as i wouldnt't know how to do it anyway. Also, i like the angle and position which i took the shot at. I think this shot works well because of the dark areas and the location which makes it look spooky like something which could be used in a horror film.
This is my worst shot which i took. The exposure is too high making it look like something was over the lense when the shot was taken. Also, i haven't edited this but there's a lot of dust on this which ruins it. I don't like the angle of which i took this shot at as ii captured quite a lot of the sky.
This is another one of my favourite shots. I like this because of the contrast of the black and white together. I think the exposure was good on this however there's sunlight on the wall on the left which ruins the shot a bit as both sides aren't even.
This image is interesting i think because you can see some colour in the image. I'm not sure how i did it but it looks like something which would be used in a comic or something. I like the way the windows on the side of the building have greens blues and reds on them which is why i like this shot.
This image is of the bank in Bradford town. I quite like this because of the way the sun is shinning on the buildings highlighting details on them. If i was to re-shoot i wouldn't change the angle, i would just change the position that i stand in so i would stand a bit further forward so the light nearest the camera isn't in the shot.
This is another one of my favourite shots. This shot was of the bank like above but a close up shot. Again, i like the sun which is shining on half of the building which brings out little details of the building. I wouldn't change anything about this shot as i think the contrast works and the exposure was right.
This shot is a bit too dark i think so doesn't really look effective. I don't think i set the exposure right on this which is why it's so dark, however i like the way the light from outside is shining through the windows is good as they stand out in the picture.
This isn't one of my best images but i like the way the colours are on this which makes it look a bit like it is a vintage picture. This image is a bit blury so if i was to take this shot again i would make sure i focussed properly and point the camera a bit more up at a higher angle to capture more of the big window at the top.
